Provisional Psychologist and Clinical Masters / PhD Candidate

Helen Gu is a Provisional Psychologist and a Clinical Masters/PhD Candidate at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).

Helen completed a Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours at UNSW, where her research in behavioural neuroscience examined the role of the hindbrain in appetitive feeding behaviour using animal models. Her PhD research focuses on the development and trial of mechanistic targeted treatment for children with conduct problems and varying levels of callous-unemotional traits, specifically secondary presentations.

Helen is involved in the assessment and diagnosis of behavioural disorders at the UNSW Parent-Child Research Clinic, working with families to support early intervention and treatment. She also has experience working with children in various settings, including childcare.
