The Parent-Child Research Clinic (we, us) is committed to protecting your Personal Information in compliance with its obligations under the Privacy Act, including Australian Privacy Principles. This Privacy Policy describes the way in which we collect, use and disclose personal information.

Definitions

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  • Personal Information has the meaning given under the Privacy Act but, in concise terms, means information or an opinion relating to an individual, whether true or not, that can be reasonably used to identify that individual.

  • Privacy Act means the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) including the Australian Privacy Principles (as amended from time to time).

  • Sensitive Information has the same meaning as under the Privacy Act.

  • Services means the services of a psychological nature we provide

  • You means the individual accessing or using the service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the service, as applicable

The meaning of any general language is not restricted by any accompanying example and the words ‘includes’, ‘including’, ‘such as’, ‘for example’ or similar words are not words of limitation.

What Personal Information do we collect?

  • when we are permitted or required to do so by law (including the Privacy Act).

Purposes of collection, use and disclosure

The collection, use and disclosure of personal information is for the purpose of conducting our services and operations, including:

  • contact and communication with clients;

  • provision of psychological services;

  • communicating with other allied healthcare providers;

  • where it is necessary to prevent a serious threat to your life, health or safety or public health or safety;

  • other reasons which should be reasonably expected by you;

  • other purposes to which you have consented; and

  • as otherwise authorised or required by law.

Cookies

Cookies are pieces of information our website transfers to your computer’s hard drive for record-keeping and may be automatically set to be accepted or by other automated means including server logs. We use cookies to collect, optimise and analyse our service and improve user experience.

The data collected may include information such as your device's internet protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the time and date of your visit, time spent on pages, links clicked by users and what users do and don’t like.

Storage and security of personal information

All reasonable steps are taken to hold your personal information securely, such that it may only be accessed by authorised persons.

We exclude all liability, except to the extent that statutory liability cannot be excluded, for the consequences of any unauthorised access to, disclosure of, misuse of or loss or corruption of your personal information.

Nothing in this Privacy Policy restricts, excludes or modifies any statutory consumer rights under any applicable law, including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).

Changes to this Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy at any time. The revised version of this Privacy Policy will be effective at the time we post it on our website www.conductproblems.com
