Dr. Georgie Fleming speaks at ‘Rethinking Evil’ for the UNSW x Sydney Science Festival

PCRC’s resident postdoc, Dr. Georgie Fleming, was invited to speak on an expert panel on Rethinking Evil as part of the UNSW x Sydney Science Festival on Monday the 12th of August, presented by the UNSW Centre for Ideas. Alongside Dr. Julia Shaw from University College London and Associate Professor Luke Russell from the University of Sydney, Georgie debated topics ranging from society’s obsession with evil to the application of this label to children in front of a packed house of curious students, academics, and community members. The discussion was expertly moderated by Natasha Mitchell from ABC National Radio. Georgie said that she had a blast and was impressed by all the follow-up questions from the audience, especially “can animals be evil?”
