Ashneeta Prasad
Ashneeta Prasad is in the first year of a combined PhD / Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. She works alongside A/Prof Eva Kimonis and fellow interns at the UNSW Parent-Child Research Clinic with a particular focus on populations presenting with Callous-Unemotional (CU) traits. Ashneeta completed her Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) degree at UNSW in 2016 under the supervision of A/Prof Kimonis. Her project received a First Class Honours and examined the implications of the ‘With Limited Prosocial Emotions’ specifier for Conduct Disorder on juror decision-making for juvenile offenders in the justice system. Ashneeta has previously also conducted a research project with A/Prof Kimonis examining maternal warmth as a mediating factor for the emotion processing ability of young children with Callous-Unemotional traits. As part of her PhD research, she is currently conducting a randomised controlled trial evaluating the efficacy and acceptability of school-based Parent-Child Interaction Therapy that seeks to improve the mental health outcomes of young, at-risk children through parent and teacher engagement.
