Georgie, Bryan and Silvana present at the Biennial Meeting of the SRCD

Dr Georgie Fleming (Lecturer, Clinical Psychologist), Bryan Neo (PhD Candidate, Psychologist), and Silvana Kaouar (PhD Candidate, Provisional Psychologist) represented the UNSW Parent-Child Research Clinic at the Biennial Meeting of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD) last week!

Georgie’s presentation showed that children with conduct problems and co-occurring callous-unemotional traits had greater treatment gains when undergoing an adaptation of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy developed specifically for this subgroup of children.

Bryan’s poster described how we could optimise the assessment of callous-unemotional traits (also known as limited prosocial emotions) using the callous-unemotional traits scale developed from the Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment (ASEBA) Preschool Form.

Silvana’s poster explored the role of parenting factors, including parental warmth and coercion, in the development of conduct problem subtypes in young children, to inform the development of targeted interventions for these groups of children.
